Winter is coming! That means that it’s time to get prepared for the cold, snowy months ahead. Of course, it’s a good idea to make sure your home is warm and safe from natural disasters before winter hits; but no matter how well you prepare, there are still plenty of reasons to buy some new clothes.
The following are five winter items that somehow also happen to be perfect for the holidays;
1) Winter Scarves
Technically, you could wear a scarf any time of year; but nobody will complain if you wait until cold weather to finally pull out that knitted scarf that’s been sitting in your closet for months. People are more likely to notice and compliment you on it if they see it at the beginning of November (when you still have four weeks until Thanksgiving) rather than the end of October (when you only have three weeks until Thanksgiving).
2) Winter Boots
Nobody wants freezing feet. Fortunately, there are plenty of boots that look great and keep your feet toasty. If you are buying boots to wear while the snow is falling, it’s best to buy them in the late summer or early fall; that way you can leave them out in a dry place until it comes time to wear them.
3) Winter Mittens
Even if you live somewhere warm enough where gloves aren’t a necessity, getting some comfy new mittens might be worth doing anyway. Even if you don’t normally need a pair of mittens, you might end up keeping them around for winter because they are so cute and warm. Even if you forget to put them on until winter is almost over, nobody will mind!
4) Winter Sweaters
Even though it’s still warm outside, donning a sweater in the middle of the day is always a great idea. Getting yourself a warm and cozy sweater for the winter season is worth doing even if you technically have time left to wear it for the rest of this year. If you find a great sweater, it will look even better when you get to wear it with holiday sweaters on Christmas!
5) Winter Hats
If you are a fan of hats and wear one every day, be sure to buy some new ones while they’re still in style. These days, there are plenty of adorable winter hats that you can wear anytime during the winter! You may find yourself wearing them just for fun on those cold mornings when you go for a walk or even when you go to class!
